So it was a mellow Sunday afternoon and I had just sat down on the toilet with my daughter near by playing with her bath toys when I heard the dog rustling around. "Oh, Jon's home early" I thought to myself. Then I hear a voice: "Oh, I thought this place was vacant." Then louder: "Is anyone here?" When I first heard the voice I immediately pulled up my pants, grabbed my daughter and yelled "YES!" with an irritated tone in my voice.
First of all, the realtor instructions in the listing of our house says "CALL IN ADVANCE. DOG AT HOUSE - DOG MAY BITE" so hello!!!!! Read the freakin' instructions and call me!!! I got no call. She apologized but still, it was quite annoying.
So the realtor says "should we come back?" Since she had a buyer with her I decided to let them come in after I said that she should have called and then I had toys all over the living room, the kitchen was not cleaned up, laundry is laying on the bed, etc. "Oh, that's okay, we don't mind." ugh. whatever. The dog was jumping on them so I put him outside. They look around and the realtor seemed more interested in the place than the buyer.
As they are walking out I followed them to the door to tell them to feel free to look in the garage. And then I noticed the GATE WAS OPEN! You idiot! Of course they wouldn't close the gate behind them! Why would I have thought that? If you open a door, don't you close it behind you? Now the dog has been released and he's having a good old time chasing cats and squirrels with a chance of getting hit by a car. I freaked out! The realtor and buyer told me they'd help me find him. They got in the car and drove around the bend as I quickly gathered my daughter, my phone, dog leash and threw them all in the stroller and jammed across a grassy area in our complex toward the street to find my dog. I didn't care what those bitches were doing as long as I could find my dog. I screamed at the top of my lungs "CLYDE!!!! COME!!!!!" I know my whole neighborhood heard me. Luckily a neighbor was walking by and she said she had just seen him. After a minute or two of all of us yelling for the dog he comes running toward me like a happy little camper and I grabbed his collar and leashed him.
Thank you realtor lady for adding some adventure to my monotonous Sunday. I am most certain the dog had a blast!
